Welcome to Empathy Foundation for Older Persons (EFOP)
A Voice, A Care, A Future for Older Persons
We believe every older person deserves respect, inclusion, and access to opportunities that promote healthy and fulfilling aging.
Our Mission
To empower older persons through advocacy, care, and inclusive programs that enhance their well-being and social participation
Our Vision
A society where older persons are valued, supported, and able to live fulfilling lives with dignity and respect.
Our Values
our values are the foundation of everything we do. We are guided by empathy, driven by compassion, and committed to upholding the dignity and worth of every older person.
About Us
Empowering Older Persons to Live with Dignity, Care, and Purpose
At EFOP, we recognize that aging should be a stage of life marked by respect, inclusion, and fulfillment—not neglect or isolation. Unfortunately, many older persons, especially in underserved communities, face challenges such as poverty, poor health, loneliness, and limited access to essential services. We exist to change that narrative.
What We Do
Transforming Lives, One Elder at a Time
At the Empathy Foundation for Older Persons (EFOP), our work is rooted in compassion, dignity, and a commitment to improving the lives of older persons. We design and implement programs that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of the elderly, ensuring that they live fulfilling and respected lives.
Social Support & Welfare Services
We provide essential support such as food, clothing, hygiene kits, and care packages. Through home visits and community programs, vulnerable elders receive the care they need to live comfortably and with dignity.
Health Support & Interventions
EFOP promotes the health and well-being of older persons through medical screenings, health education, and access to healthcare services, medications, and wellness programs.
Advocacy & Rights Protection
We champion the rights of older persons, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected. EFOP engages with policymakers, communities, and institutions to safeguard the dignity and welfare of elders.
Community Inclusion & Awareness
We foster social inclusion by creating opportunities for older persons to participate in community life, educational programs, and cultural activities. Public awareness campaigns also highlight the contributions and value of older persons.
Emotional & Psychological Support
Aging often brings challenges such as loss, grief, and stress. EFOP offers counseling, support groups, and one-on-one companionship to help older persons cope with these challenges, improve mental health, and find emotional strength in later life.
Partnerships & Collaboration
EFOP works closely with government agencies, non-profits, volunteers, and corporate partners to create sustainable programs. By leveraging partnerships, we amplify our impact and ensure that older persons receive continuous support and opportunities to thrive.
Support Our Cause
Restore Dignity. Give Hope. Change a Life
Every day, many older persons struggle with hunger, poor health, loneliness, and neglect. These are people who once cared for families and built communities, yet now need support to live with dignity and comfort.
At the Empathy Foundation for Older Persons (EFOP), we are committed to changing this reality—but we cannot do it alone. Your generosity makes it possible.
This campaign is dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable older persons by providing essential care and support. With your help, we can reach those who need it most—especially widows, the elderly living alone, and those in underserved communities.

Our Dedicated Team
Passionate People. Shared Purpose. Lasting Impact
Chief Peter Dalla is a true treasure to humanity—a man whose life is defined by service, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those in need. Born on February 15, 1960, his journey of impact began early, shaped by the rich cultural values of the Bajju people, where caring for older persons is not just encouraged but deeply rooted in tradition.
From his teenage years in the early 1970s, Chief Dalla embraced this calling wholeheartedly. In a culture where young people are expected to support elderly individuals—especially those without family support—he stood out for his dedication. Without being told, he took on farming and domestic responsibilities for older persons, a practice he has continued throughout his life. This lifelong commitment to service earned him national recognition, as he was among the 1,500 Nigerians nominated for the prestigious National Honours Award in 2003.
Over the years, Chief Dalla has distinguished himself through impactful leadership and humanitarian service. He has served as President and Particular Council Secretary of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, as well as Provincial Coordinator (North) of the Catholic Centre for Poverty Reduction, contributing significantly to poverty alleviation and community development.
Today, he continues to make a difference across multiple platforms. He serves as the Executive Director of the Empathy Foundation for Older Persons (EFOP), where he champions the dignity, care, and well-being of older persons. He is also the Project Coordinator of the I Have Conscience Foundation, inspiring individuals to live with purpose and integrity.
As a crew member of the Pit to Peak Foundation, his voice reaches many through a radio program aired on Armed Forces Radio (107.7 Abuja), where he helps inspire listeners to rise from life’s challenges to greater heights. His commitment to protecting and empowering communities is further reflected in his involvement with several regional and national organizations, including the West African Action Network on Small Arms (WAANSA), West African Civil Society Forum (WACSOF), National Council for Civil Society Organisations (NACCSO), Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA), and the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).
A true friend of older persons, Chief Dalla strategically established EFOP in a community where many elderly individuals reside, ensuring they are not only reached but cared for with compassion and dignity.
His life is not just a story—it is a living example of empathy in action, a legacy of service, and a powerful reminder that true greatness lies in lifting others.
